Field of Work and Experience
Within Allambi, Ian’s main role is to provide assessment, diagnosis and ongoing psychiatric management of children and adolescents. Ian has a special interest in caring for kids with trauma histories and working to ensure the safety of kids in OOHC generally. Ian is a committee member of the Sexuality & Gender Inclusivity and Diversity Committee, and Chair of the Sexual Safety & Wellbeing Committee. Ian is also part of a weekly Sexual Safety Clinical Panel which triages, assesses and coordinates clinical treatment for young people in Allambi who have reported being a victim of, or have displayed Problematic or Harmful Sexualised Behaviours (PHSB). Ian travelled to the US in 2019 to co-present at a conference for children in residential care, on reducing prescription of medications for children in OOHC.
Aspirations and Personal Interests
When not at work Ian likes spending time with his family, riding his motorbike, playing with his dogs, or out in the garden planting trees and bird watching. Ian also loves to cook and eat.
