BA (Psychology), working towards Graduate Certificate – Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer and

registered Foster Carer and Relative/Kinship Care Assessor.

Field of Work and Experience

Melina has over fifteen years of experience, working therapeutically with young people, families, carers, care teams, and community in various roles within the residential and foster care system. Melina’s Clinical practice is centred around taking a trauma informed approach, while demonstrating sensitivity to individual needs.

Melina has a special interest in evidence-based practice and research. Her passion is about supporting individuals to attain greater independence to function in their day to day lives.

Melina is motivated to incorporate her client’s goals with elements involving growth, safety, healing connections and mastery within a needs based restorative framework.

Aspiration and Personal Interests

In Melina’s spare time she enjoys beach walks, time with friends and family and exploring the beautiful Far North Coast.
